The final weeks of the spring semester are an exciting time for Adams State College many students are preparing for their graduation and others are making preparations to return in the fall.
Graduation
Graduates are welcome to attend the Graduation Celebration Brunch being held at Bistro Rialto on May 13. The lunch is hosted by the ASC PBL and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 if purchased before May 13 and $20 if they are purchased at the door.
The ASC Graduation ceremonies will be held on Saturday, May 14. The undergraduate ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and Senator Gail Schwartz will speak to the graduates. The master’s degree ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and Commissioner John Salazar will give the commencement address at that ceremony.
Finals
Finals will be held from Tuesday, May 10 through Friday, May 13. There are no classes or finals scheduled for May 9 which has been set aside as a study day for students. The exams begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and are scheduled according to when each class is usually held. If there is a conflict between finals students should contact their professors to make arrangements.
To help students in their efforts to study for finals the Neilson Library is having quiet study days for the second and third floor of the library. Students are asked to remain quiet on those floors through the last day of finals. The goal is to reduce noise on those days. There are surveys available at the library so students can let them know how they felt about the study days.
