Adams State College sophomore wrestler, Josh Hensley was named as the Jan. 28 ASCGrizzlies.com and The Paw Print Athlete of the Week after he outscored opponents 29-4 recording both a technical fall and a major decision. He also had a 12-2 win over no. 2 ranked Andre Harrison of Fort Hays State.
The ASCGrizzlies.com and The Paw Print Athlete of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll.
There were two other nomonees this week, Chloe Cable from the women’s basketball team and Nick Fox of the men’s basketball team.
Cable, who averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 66.7 percent (12-18) in games against Fort Lewis and Western New Mexico, finished first in online voting.
A new poll will be posted each Sunday night after all of the Grizzly teams have concluded their competition for the weekend. The votes will be tabulated each Wednesday, when the Athlete of the Week will be announced.
