Adams University Cook-Off Set for September 14th

ALAMOSA (August 30) – Sensational cooks and chili lovers plan to attend the ever-popular Adams State University Autumn@Adams Cook-Off starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, on the North Campus Green. Enter your special recipe for red or green chili or salsa for $10 and receive up to $150 for first place. Tickets to sample the chili and salsa cost $3 and include the right to vote for your favorite dish. This year includes a jalapeno eating contest for adults and a watermelon seed spitting contest for children, both include prizes. Adams State clubs and organizations will be selling baked goods, drinks, and other special treats. Voting stops at 1 p.m., and the event will close at 2 p.m., after announcing all award recipients. Autumn@Adams Week is September 9 through September 14. Events compliment the 2013 theme, Health, Fitness, and Beyond/Salud, Buena Forma Física y Más, including promoting positive mental health; exploring meditation and inner peace; stronger leadership through physical health; and a comprehensive look at future wellness.
