A Parallel Universe Trapped in Space and Time

What are dreams exactly?  A dream is a series of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during your sleep period.
There are many reasons people think of why we humans dream the way we do. Ancient societies saw dreams as doorways for sending wisdom from the gods. In modern psychology, Sigmund Freud famously theorized that dreams were the “royal road to the unconscious.”  There are many examples of why people think we dream and this is just one of them.
Now we all know what dreams are, but there are certain parts of a dream that we are unfamiliar about, and lucid dreaming is one of them. Lucid dreaming is mainly dreaming while being alert but you are asleep.
If you are in a lucid dream, you will usually tend to have some authority over your dream, anything from being able to fly or making an object or room appear behind a door or inside a pocket, right up to being able to change into animals and create a whole world. Lucid dreams have been scientifically proved to exist. Some people don’t even realize that they are able to control their dreams.
Lucid dreaming is a highly researched topic and there have been a number of studies at Stanford University. Some research has led to new understandings into the connection between the mind and body. Supposedly while you lucid dream half of your brain is in the sleep state and the other half of your brain is awake and aware of what is happening.
At Stanford University several tests have been done to see how and where the lucid dream comes from inside the brain and what may cause people to lucid dream more than others. Studies on the Dream Light device has been promising, 55% of 44 subjects had at least one lucid dream during one study.
While the subject sleeps someone flashes a light into the subjects face at certain times of the sleep period, this is the Dream Light test. By flashing the light into the subjects face at these certain times it enables the scientist to see when the flashing of the light creates more movement in the brain.
Being able to lucid dream is a very good technique. Not everyone can do it right way but there are many ways to teach yourself how to lucid dream. Some examples of exercising the brain to lucid dream would be to keep a dream diary so you are able to remember easier what you have just dreamed about.
Another example you may do to help yourself practice dreaming is as you are dreaming ask yourself “am I dreaming.” Look for a light switch in your dream or a clock, and if the switch doesn’t turn off you will know you are dreaming and then your fun begins. Lucid dreaming is an interesting and exciting thought.
It allows your imaginations to have unlimited power so you can think of anything. It is also good for problem solving.  Lucid dreaming is a tool that many people could learn how to use. It enables us to do things that are physically impossible and allows us to open up a world of imagination that we may not be able to do in real life.
To me dreams are the most fascinating thing that a human body can do. It is another world that we have little information about. You are able to witness your one dreamland.
