An Adams State College student was issued a citation for indecent exposure on January 23, 2010.

Marcus Pierce, of Centennial, Colo., allegedly exposed himself in the Nielsen Library.

In the state of Colorado, indecent exposure is considered a class one misdemeanor. As defined in Title 18, Article 7 of the legal statutes for the state of Colorado, “A person commits indecent exposure if he or she knowingly exposes his or her genitals to the view of any person under circumstances in which such conduct is likely to cause affront or alarm to the other person.”

Dr. Joel Shults, director of the ASC Police Department said, “Students should always call police dispatch if they feel like they’re witnessing a crime or a victim of a crime, and students can submit tips anonymously online to the ASC Police Department if they’re not comfortable calling dispatch for whatever reason.”

The phone number for police dispatch is (719)-589-5807, and the website for the ASC Police Department is www.adams.edu/ps/.
