Hi, my name is Stephanie Hilwig and I am an Associate Sociology Professor at Adams State College. I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Adams State College in 1994, and then completed my graduate work at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I was born in New Zealand, but grew up in Los Angeles. I have 3 beautiful children and one amazing husband. I look forward to working with anyone interested in learning about the world around us. A quote by Einstein below demonstrates the purpose of studying Sociology.
“A human being is part of the whole that we call the universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical illusion of his consciousness. This illusion is a prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for only the few people nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living beings and nature.”
~Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
