Simulation Volunteer Organization
San Luis Valley Center for Clinical Excellence welcomes members of all ages from the community to volunteer their time to help our students have the most realistic training exercises as possible. We offer opportunities to volunteer as standardized patients and actors portraying family members, doctors, and other health care providers in a team. We also need volunteers to help with technology and creating “moulage” or body fluids and wounds.
The Simulation Volunteer Organization along with the first class of BSN Nursing students from Adams State College hosted our first fundraiser in October of 2011 and created a haunted house in the Simulation Lab. It was a big hit and we repeated this with the overwhelming assistance of the ASU Students Nursing Association in 2012 with great success! If you would like to be placed in our volunteer database please contact Allison Bennett 719-587-8266 or e-mail allisonbennett@adams.edu.
