Banner and CS Maintenance for Thursday, March 28, 2013

The following maintenance activities will take place tonight, Thursday March 28, 2013 during our normally scheduled maintenance window beginning at 9:00 PM:

-We will be performing a mandatory Financial Aid and Student Module upgrade to the Banner system beginning at 9 PM and lasting until roughly 11 PM. During this maintenance, all Banner services will be unavailable including Self-Service Banner, Web Services, printing, etc.

-Employee and TEC Classroom computers will receive critical security patches for Firefox, Flash, Shockwave, and Adobe Reader beginning at 9 PM. Employees are encouraged to log out and leave their computers on when leaving for the day. This will enable these updates to run overnight and minimize any impact to our users.

-Also at 9 PM, the campus Windows Print Server will be rebooted, causing an outage to on-campus networked printing of about 15 minutes.

Computing Services thanks you for your patience and understanding as we perform these critical maintenance activities. As always, if you have any questions, please call the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at 7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu

CS Maintenance during Spring Break

Computing Services will be performing two maintenance activities during the Spring Break week:

Tonight, Tuesday March 12th, beginning at 9 PM and lasting until roughly 1 AM, we will be migrating the campus Windows Print Server to new back-end storage. During this time, printing from campus computers, both employee and lab, will be down. Since nearly all students will be out for Spring Break, the impact of this maintenance should be very minimal.

The Computing Services Department will be performing a transition to a new server for the Banner Web Services (School Services, Web for Employee, One Stop, TouchNet) this Thursday, March 14th from 8 AM until roughly 1 PM. During the upgrade, these services will be unavailable, however, on-campus Banner INB (forms) services will remain up and usable.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our help desk directly at x7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu

Thanks and have a great week!
