About how much I miss ASC yea I know I have been gone for what a month? But in that month I seem to have miss ASC more then I thought I was going too. Tonight has just seemed to be thinking about everything I did at ASC and in the SLV(San Luis Valley) Like i didn’t go to the falls, or the sand dunes really maybe once or twice the whole time I was at Adams. I didn’t explore the valley and now. I really wish I did do more of that. I’m trying to figure out a way to get some money to go camping or even a hiking trip/ cliff jumping trip in the Jemez mountains which is beautiful during the summer.

So I wanted to do another blog since I miss writing about ASC and about what I do for fun.

So Since I have been back home I started to work at Rio Rancho Meats cutting meat moved out of my house into my aunties house since she has a bedroom open there away from everybody so I basicly have half the house to myself along with a pool that i can swim in whenever i want, grill the same thing and come and go as a I please so its basicly having my own place and I am paying her 100 a month in rent so it works.  I also got fired for fighting one of my coworkers so I am currently looking for a new job.  My laptop also doesn’t work anymore the motherboard is fried so once I get a new job I’ll get me one.  At the moment im at my grandpa’s using his.  Also as many of my readers know I am transfering to a Community college in the fall let me tell you not the smartest thing some times because not all of your credits transfer only 12 credits did out of about 30 credits so it sucks.  And all of the classes I took for business did not transfer which is not fun either!!!  Anyways I just wanted to give you a rundown on what has happend so far in the 2.5 weeks i have been home so far.

Your native New Mexican,

Anthony Santillanes

PS.  if you want to find me on face book go right on ahead i’ll add you!

Alright so Friday I leave for Albuquerque to go back home till I get my Associates At the community college I am going too.  I’m going to be sad to leave because I love it here so much, but my family comes first when they need something I will do it to the best of my ability.   I want to give a couple shout outs to professors, staff and a club.  So first of all there is Michelle Romero who allows me to blog for the school so if you want to blog go talk to her!  She is our blogging mamma and will always help us with anything she is amazing and I will miss her. Shirley who is the campus minister who has been there for me when I needed someone to talk to or just someone to sit down and chat with in between classes. she is also amazing,  Dr. Linda Reid she is my advisor, professor and my friend.  She is amazing person who I know for a fact I’m going to stay talking too on facebook since she’s my friend on there.  Last but not least I want to give a shut out to GAB and all my friends I made while in GAB they are amazing people who you can hang out with and also a smokers case smoke a cigarette with before events, before meetings, after meetings before classes anything there all great people to be around.   As this week comes to an end and finals are ending its going to be rough leaving but you know what I will be here to visit whenever I can.  If you want to stay in touch with me or have any questions you can send me an email at santillanesaa@aol.com.  I’ll me more then happy to talk to any one.

Procrastination is one of the worst thing’s you can do while in college.  This is because most of the time you have to look thing’s up and read before you can do it.  I am a witness of this.  I had a Business law court case paper due today and just kept putting it off because I knew it was easy and wouldn’t take too long because the first one didn’t.  I decided to go to sleep around 10pm and wake up around 2:30am.  Of course me being me I did this because I didn’t want to do it last night.  I laid in bed till about 1am trying to fall asleep but I did for an hour and a half and started on that paper.  It took me till about 4 to find a court case that I liked and then another 30 min to read over it and type my paper.  But hey I’m pretty sure I did great because I took it to the writing studio(its free so use it)  to get it edited and they only had to fix a couple thing’s which is good for me.  I also decided to do my sociology book report even though I am failing the class so I won’t fail as bad as I would if I didn’t.   the book is only 177 pages long and the book report has to be 4 pages long so I will do it to the best of my ability along with taking it to the writing studio to be edited as well. Wish me luck!

So this weekend I went home because my Grandpa whom I live with when I’m home asked me to come home.  The reason he asked me to come is due to the fact money is really tight and wanted to talk to me about transferring back down to abq at either UNM or CNM and help out by putting money towards bills. After much thought, consideration and talking to him for about 4 hours total about it. I have decided that even though I love Adams State to death but as of right now I am transfering back down to help out till I get my associates or bachlors then we will see where I go to work or if I’m going to go to graduate school and work.  At the moment I am thinking about coming back after I get my associates but we will see what the plan is in about a year or 2. I will be getting an apartment though in abq by the end of July so that’s some good news!

So this week was Grizzly Daze which is a week long of events that Gab puts on.  Gab is the grizzly activity board aka student activities board.  It started off with super fun day which is some inflatables, face painting and human hamster balls which was a lot of fun.  I only signed up for the set up of the event but ended up staying the whole time minus an hour when I got ready for class and ate dinner.  Tuesday night was free bowing for the students and faculty which was a lot of fun I bowled the whole time while I worked.  Wednesday was main event we had Peter Boie who is a magician come in and preform for us he was really great and cool,  we also had Steve Byrne who is one of my favorite comedians,  he was in four Christmases and couples retreat. He was absolutely hilarious I couldn’t stop laughing all through out his show even when he was ragging on New Mexico and us Mexicans. On thursday night we had Casino night where there were $1000 dollars worth of prizes of which I could not win due to me being in GAB but I had a lot of fun hanging out with friends and working.

Over all I had a fun week but very stressful since it was non stop

Here are some pictures of the week’s events except for Casino night because I forgot my Camera in my room which is sad.

Today was ASC Cares Day Part 2. So I went to volunteer at Saguache where they plan to have a recreation area.  I had a lot of fun, I got to lift tractor tire’s and regular tires, i got to flip over many times industrial sized swamp coolers, a refrigerator I just had a fun time doing all of that working with my hands and killing the gloves I had.  by the end of the day there was a whole through it already in one palm.  I saw how bad also illegal dumping is because that is all was there, there were also a trany, part of a starter, batteries all over the place plus a lot of other random thing’s everywhere like enough wood to have a bonfire!

Here’s a few pictures for you of the day,  we got everything they wanted to do done but they didn’t think we could get everything that quick!

So me being the nice grandson I am and since I lived with my Grandpa my whole life.  I decided to call him and see what is going on back at home and to let him now how I’m doing.  First time I have talked to him since Easter weekend.  First thing he asked when I was on the phone with him was if I was going to be transfering to the University of New Mexico(UNM) or CNM which is a community college, They are both located in Albuquerque.  I didn’t go to either one of those colleges because I wanted to be away from home for a year’s. I know he misses me and all since I was like his son  but seriously He know’s why I chose to come here over UNM and CNM.  I prefer being out here then down at home.    My Grandpa is amazing though, he is such a smart ass all the time and is always having a good time no matter what.  I do miss him but I do not miss being in ABQ its too hot for me and too close to home where I can go if I need something. Its better being away from home and to be more independent then you can being that close to home where you can run if trouble comes about.   ASC is an amazing school and Alamosa is a great place to be I think!

Have a Grizzly Great day!

So tonight I was randomly graced with my “parents”  My friends parents that I call mom and dad and they consider me a son.  Anyways,  I was just hanging out last night when I get an IM on facebook from my “mom” and asked me what time I get out of class on fridays and I told them and I got back “GREAT, Me and Dad are driving through from pueblo do you want to get dinner?” being the college student I am, I took up the offer since its a free meal.  It was really random for me because we never even talked since May until my “mom” found me here on facebook 2 weeks ago.  It  was a good little visit that i very much needed.
