When You Have To Get Outside ASAP!

Earth Corp 2010

We recently received this email about the 2010 Earth Corp Program and I wanted to pass it along. This is a great opportunity for college credit and for a summer spent outdoors. Contact them directly if you are interested.
Dear College Professor, Coordinator, or Assistant,

I am writing from the Rocky Mountain Field Institute, a nonprofit environmental education and stewardship organization that is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of wildlands and key natural areas, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Institute accomplishes its mission through key environmental projects such as our Earth Corps program, an environmental education and service course for undergraduate students to take place during Summer 2010.

Earth Corps was created to address critical environmental threats in sensitive wildland environs, while introducing undergraduate students to ecology, environmental restoration techniques, and land management policy. This intensive hands-on program combines environmental education with an environmental stewardship project. 30 days in length, participants live in a remote setting for the duration, complete long hours of demanding physical labor, work effectively as a team, exercise the highest level of commitment and perseverance, and make enduring friendships. Upon successful completion of the program, each student will receive 4 hours of credit from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (GES 446: Field Studies in Geography).

This email is to ask for your assistance in passing on the attached information regarding our Earth Corps program to your students and any other student groups or faculty that you feel may be interested. Earth Corps seeks motivated students from all over the country and we believe students at your institution may be interested in this unique summer opportunity. Attached is a program flier and detailed description to be used at your discretion. If you, or any of your students have any contacts that should be added to our e-mailing list please kindly forward those addresses onto us at your earliest convenience! If any questions, concerns, or comments arise contact us at rmfi@rmfi.org or 719-471-7736.

Thank you for your time!
